Good afternoon students, hope you all have a nice lecture day?  How many of you want to get A’s in all subjects=? Did you know it possible, wow! in this short speech am about to deliver , we will consider how we can get A’s beyond just reading  and also how we can rise our education beyond schooling .  Before I proceed am scoolj oluwajuwonlo joseph.  One thing I want you to know  is that success in education and schooling is easier than you ever thought.

                  

I will like to start with these quotes “it is not the style of clothes one wears neither the kind of automobile on drives nor the amount of money one has in the bank that counts”  and “ the moment we believe that success is determined by an ingrained level of ability we will be brittle in the face of adversity.” By George Washington carver and Josh waitzkin respectively.  I decided to start with these quotes because majority of us complain a lot about our status quo, like  my parents do not have money that is why  I cannot study well , on and on. Failure does not require alibi and success does not demand explanation.

STEP ONE 

DESIRE

This is the first step  in attaining excellence in courses or subjects beyond just reading. Many students make a lot of mistake because they fail to define bottom-line of  semester or term  they are in . desire is the first safe boat that will lead you to achieving your goal, it is the foundation of all learning as  Hobbes put it “human desire is the fundamental motivation of all human action “ power of desire will propel you to run after  your goal. Note! Desire is different from wishing,  many students wish but they don’t desire.

ABOUT

INTRODUCTION

Scoolj-drill team (SDT) is a group of young people with like-minded, who seek to assist students academically in terms of breaking down concepts or subject matters that look so complex into simple form, and also help to nourish their desires.

This programme came into being from the hungry mind of young leaders who believe that students are actually not attaining what they are capable of,  They are belittled as a result  of  garbage of negative thoughts in their minds.

SDT also has it root upon the believe that success starts from within then without. Meaning reading is a half dose of success and the state of  mind is the second half that attracts success.

OBJECTIVES

1.     To assist students in achieving their goals.

2.     To inculcate spirit of leadership.

3.     To help students break down concepts or subject matters that look so complex into simple forms.

4.     To give individuals a platform to expose his or her potentials.

5.     To transform students’ mind full of garbage of negative thoughts as alibi towards their success in academic and other areas of their life.

6.     To develop sense of responsibility in students to be their brother’s keeper.

Eligibility/ participation

Everyone is eligible to be a member, especially those that can take responsibility of others.

All governors are automatic members of scoolj-drill team.

Registration

Registration is open to everyone who is ready to be responsible for others. To be a full pledged member you are required to complete a membership form. The membership form require information on personal data , course to be in charge etc.

Completed membership form is to be returned to the secretary and also general meeting is usually held for old and new members.

OPERATIONS

We have different ways of presenting our products or materials which are:

1.     Hard copy  or paper drill

2.     Audio drill

3.     Video drill

These modalities are adopted to meet needs of diverse learners. We take a course; scrutinize, summarize then present it in form of questions depending on the examination mode. For instance, if fed 100 examination is usually objectives or multiple choice questions, then the drill will be presented in multiple choice format. On the other hand, if the course examination mode is in theory then the drill will be summarized and there will also be suggested or likely questions.

SDT will also organise seminar in every semester to anew the minds.
